Grzywinski Pons Ltd is a New York City based practice led by principals Matthew Grzywinski and Amador Pons. Our practice is committed to design excellence predicated on quality, beauty, innovation and a rigorous approach to detail. Our dedication to this pursuit has led to significant levels of experience in designing and administrating the construction of the built environment. As a LEED Accredited firm we embrace principles of sustainability in our design and happily guide our clients through the LEED Certification process should they choose to pursue it. Grzywinski Pons Ltd has developed a diverse body of built work including retail, commercial, hospitality and residential commissions which have garnered international attention.
Matthew Grzywinski studied at Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design, earning degrees in Architecture and Industrial Design. As a solo practitioner he designed and administrated the construction of several commercial and retail commissions as well as a host of built residential projects in New York City and beyond before co-founding his practice with Amador Pons in 2002. He has been a speaker and contributor to architectural and urban developmental think tanks, summits and charettes in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Toronto, Tokyo and Milan.
Amador Pons earned his Architecture degree at Syracuse University. After several years of managing the construction of multiple renovations and “ground-up” buildings in and around New York City in addition to co-producing Earthquake! (Springer Wien Press, 2001) with Lebbeus Woods, Pons joined Matthew Grzywinski to establish their practice in 2002.
